Working with a Small Crew? Here’s How to Save on Location Costs in Thailand
Big Visions, Lean Teams
Not every production needs 20 people on set. Whether you're an indie filmmaker, content creator, YouTuber, or brand shooting a small campaign, working with a tight crew can be incredibly efficient.
But here’s the catch: many locations still charge full production rates, even if your team is just 2–5 people. That’s where SceneAccess comes in.
Why Small Teams Need Smart Tools
When you’re operating lean, every baht counts. Location costs can easily eat into your budget if pricing isn’t flexible.
That’s why SceneAccess built the platform around:
- Crew size-based pricing
- Hourly bookings
- Photography vs. videography rate splits
You choose and pay for exactly what you need.
Smart Filters That Cut Your Costs
Here’s how to search smarter using SceneAccess:
1. Booking Type – Hourly, Half-Day, or Full-Day
In cases when you don’t need to book 9 hours if your shoot takes only 2 hours. Just select Hourly in the booking type filter, which will show you the listings with **Hourly" booking options only. Same goes for selecting Half-Day and **Full-Day" options from the search filter.
- Hourly: Great for short content and interviews. Make sure to check the minimum booking hours before booking to make sure it covers your needs.
- Half-Day: Ideal for mini-campaigns. Usually, between 4-6 hours count as a half-day.
- Full-Day: Best for large productions. Usually, between 8-12 hours count as a full-day.
2. Price Range Selector – Set Your Budget
Use the slider to filter locations based on your budget. No more clicking on overpriced listings.
- Real-time price updates
- Transparent rates
3. Crew Size Pricing – Only Pay for What You Use
Most locations on SceneAccess charge based on crew size:
4. Photography vs. Videography Rates
Still photos require fewer resources than video shoots. SceneAccess allows hosts to set:
- Photography rates: Base rate
- Videography rates: Usually 20–30% higher than the photography price. Check out the booking tab on the listings to see if they offer different rates for photography and videography.
Final Tips for Lean Shoots
- Confirm overtime charges and potential ad-ons in advance
- Bring your own gear if possible
- Use multi-scene locations to save on travel/setup time
